Our very favorite treat from the garden is the home-grown tomato. Typically we will buy plants from a nursery or outdoor store. This year we are trying to grow our own tomatos from scratch. We planted these seeds last week for four different types of tomatos. The little plastic greenhouse trays seem to work just fine as long as you place it in a warm spot. The last few rows are Bell Peppers and Jalapenos which take a little longer to germinate. Today we removed the plastic lid and placed the seed starting tray in a sunny window. We will try to nurse these plants along until the end of May when our last frost usually occurs. I also purchased some plastic water walls as an insurance policy for a late frost.
