Last year we were introduced to a local farmer’s giant pumpkin patch by Jolynn’s Sister. We had so much fun that we decided to make it a tradition to go along with our annual neighborhood pumpkin carving party. This year the weather was much nicer and the kids had a wonderful time romping in the sea of orange. Their favorite part was picking out their very own pumpkins to carve and decorate.

The visit to Hansen’s pumpkin patch in Elsinore, UT start of with a train ride in these little cars pulled by a vintage John Deere tractor. Then we switch to a wagon ride which delivers us smack into the middle of the pumpkin patch. This is where we fan out and find that perfect pumpkin. The kids each pick two pumpkins and Jolynn found several small ones for decorating inside the house. We enjoy starting our own family traditions to help us spend time together.

That looks like loads of fun. There was a big pumpkin patch at that Schnepf Farms that Alex and I went to last week, but their pumpkins didn’t look nearly as nice as the ones in your pictures! Happy pumpkin carving!
