An attempt at capturing the whole crew in a somewhat presentable manner. We are going in for a real family picture later this week. I can’t believe we really have six children, it doesn’t seem like a lot now that it has actually happened. It still feels like somebody is missing. Max announced to us this morning that he is excited for his new baby sister that is coming tomorrow? We have no idea.

This is a picture with Dallin’s namesake, my brother James Christopher Lee whom Dallin is named after. It’s hard to get a good shot when the two best photographers are to be in the photo. I am not one of them (photographers that is).

Jolynn wanted us to do a shot with Dallin’s two Grandfathers that were in attendance at the baby blessing. Jolynn’s Dad (Dan) was the runner up for Dallin’s name, I liked the name Danny Jay Lee. My dad is out of luck in the name department because neither Roland nor Loren works for me. Sorry man.

With six kids we sometimes have to divide and conquer. I mentally divided them into two groups, I call them “the bigs” and “the littles”. For example, today I mowed the grass with Max and Brianna on my knee so Jolynn could get dinner ready. Travis did a great job holding the baby and actually got him to sleep. Alyssa and Hannah are good helpers too.

We went to St. George for Jolynn’s six week checkup this week. We had a fun lunch date with our friends Brett and Kim at Ruby River while gramma lee watched the littles (Max and Brianna). On the way home we stopped in Cedar City to see Jodi and Kyles new baby Sam. He was a real snuggle bug and it was fun to pose him and Dallin together.

Today during the first session of conference we layed Dallin on his belly on the floor. He is trying so hard to keep his head up all the time and look around. It wasn’t long before he rolled over onto his back from the weight of his huge noggin.

Dallin is doing better now that we got rid of his tanning salon (Bilyrubin Lights). He seems to like the bottle better than his momma which is frustrating Jolynn. I hope he takes a liking to nursing because that gets me off the hook for the midnight feedings. Travis and Hannah seem to be the most interested in holding Dallin and helping out. He is a good natured baby and is still sleeping a lot, especially during the day - doh!

Day 4 of Dallin’s life was a bit too exciting for us. Upon getting his Bilirubin checked we found his levels were quite high (21.5). We learned that the hospital in Richfield will not play well with out of town doctors as they gave Scott Barton the runaround. We called our neighbor who is a Nurse Practitioner and friend and she had the Bili lights delivered to the house within 20 minutes. She made a house call an hour later to make sure the baby and Jolynn were hanging in there. We had a long night of crying and are hoping to hear his numbers have gone down a bit after getting re-checked this morning. The kids were a little worried and hovered by him after he finally cried himself to sleep.

Update: 2:00pm (Count was down to 18.3 after 14 hours under the lights). One more day in the lights and he should be okay to get back to normal life. The doc wants him to be in the 10-14 range. He still has to get his little foot poked each day for tests. Poor little guy.

Dallin James Lee was born at 6:52 PM in St. George, Utah on Friday, August 22nd. He weighed in at 7lbs. and 5oz. and measured 20 inches. He was born with blond hair much like his brother Travis. All the other kids were born with dark hair that morphed to blond during their first year of life.

Hannah was one of the first people to get to hold baby Dallin. She was staying with Gramma Lee while Jolynn was delivering the baby. Grampa Lee got to hold him later that evening.
