Planting Walla Walla Onions

Hannah Planting Walla Walla Onion Starts

Today Hannah helped me get the onion starts planted. She was only interested in doing the watering but eventually got her hands dirty digging holes for me. My neighbor said that they really like the Walla Walla Onions so we are giving them a try this year. Hopefully they will be good for Jolynn’s jacked up salsa recipe.  We have never had such a large garden area to grow vegetables. We are looking forward to experimenting a little beyond the standard Tomatos, Corn and Potato garden. I hope to grow some special treats for my chickens and chukars like cabbage and lettuce.

Kids on the new Polaris Ranger 700 XP

To help us out with all of our chores we decided to by a Polaris Ranger. It has a top speed of 50+ miles per hour and the bench seats three adults with ease. We have only had it for 2 days and already have hauled weeds, tree limbs, pavers, dogs, lawn clippings, fertilizer, chicken feed and children. The kids love to buckle in and go for a ride, even if its only out to the barn to feed the dogs and chickens. I took it up on the mountain already with a friend in search of elk antler sheds.
