This past week has brought us unusually cold weather and generous amounts of the fluffy white stuff falling from the sky. The locals continue to comment about how many years it has been since they have seen this much snow. The first storm brought us about 12 inches around the end of November. After a cold week of below freezing temperatures, the snow had melted very little. Then the next storms started rolling through. It seemed that every few days had brought us a new storm system and it continues even tonight. I had to actually break down this week and purchase an official snow shovel. For the last week I have been knocking the snow off with a combination of a broom and a square nose shovel. The children tired very quickly of the snow despite our attempts to play outside in it. The one thing we know for certain is that we will be having a white christmas for our first Winter in our new home.
